Whispers at Court by Blythe GiffordRating By Julia,06/02/2016Royal Weddings series 1 _ Secrets at Court ______ 03/14 ~~~( Nicholas and Lady Anne ) 2 _ Whispers at Court _____ 06/15 ~~~( Marc and Lady Cecily ) This story is centred on Isabella and Enguerrand. Princess and Count. Marc is a Knight and friend to Enguerrand. Cecily is Isabella’s friend. Once at court they get closer, so Marc and Cecily band together to keep them apart. Full of hate for the French believing that her father was killed by one of the French knights she vents all her hate on Marc. Marc in turn cannot wait to go home. His ransom does not get paid so he decides to escape. By this time Cecily and Marc started to have feelings for each other. Marc takes Cecily back to her home but finds it hard to leave. In doing so they become closer. The King of France comes back from exile and then dies in England. Marc plans to use the body return to get home. However his plans do not work out as he hoped. This story is well written but similar to a story I have read before. So half way through it was hard to keep the enthusiasm for the story. This seems to be happening a lot lately. It has a sweet ending but very incomplete as endings go. The author added some useful notes at the end.
