love conquers the cultural divide

Rating By Denise,27/03/2015

**I received this book as a gift--the review is my personal opinion** Jemma is desperate for work after her father's Ponzi scheme ruins her reputation, causing alienation from friends, and her losing as a model. She enters Saidia using her sister's passport, unfortunately Sheihk Mikael discovers her and vows to have her punished for violating the law. He takes her to his tribe, and the Sheihk is asked to chose the sentence by an elder--seven years of punishment in house arrest or claim her for his queen. He makes his claim, and they are married without ceremony, against her will. As they spend the next eight nights together, learning about each other and the deepest secrets each harbors, they forge a relationship. The marriage goes from cultural "forced" to a love match, but each still fights baggage, cultural, and trust issues from the past. Surviving an accident solidifies their love and commitment for the future. This is a beautifully written story which uses the spirit of sensuality a la the tales of One Thousand and One Nights as the couple explores the beginning of marriage in a cultural tradition. I highly recommend it!

Modern Romance March 2015 Bundle B

Rating By Janine,27/03/2015

I have only read one of the books in this bundle and really enjoyed it. His Defiant Desert Queen (The Disgraced Copelands) by Jane Porter I didn’t want this book to end. This is a story that captures you from the start and stays strong all the way to the very last words. When Jemma Copeland is caught breaking Saidia’s laws, she is to face one of two punishments. One would be seven years imprisonment. The other is to marry Sheikh Mikael. She has no choice in which one it will be. Marriage is chosen as her punishment. Jemma refuses to accept it and claims she will never love him. If she can make it through the first eight days, Mikael says he will let her go back to London if she still wishes to do so. But once the honeymoon starts, Jemma is quickly second guessing how she originally felt. She is falling in love. Beautiful descriptions of the scenery, great characters and plot make this a must read for any romance fan.
