A MARRIAGE BUILT ON VENGEANCE AND DESIRE!

Isabella of Warehaven is the key to the revenge that Richard of Dunstan craves. And now he has her securely in his arms he won’t let her go. With Isabella as bait, he’ll lure her betrothed – the murderous Glenforde – back to the scene of his crime and deliver justice.

When the harsh winter traps Isabella on Richard’s island fortress she has no choice but to become his bride. Unable to deny the stirrings of a dangerously seductive attraction, can Isabella ease this fierce warrior’s torment and wipe the darkness from his soul before spring – and rescue – arrives?

A story of Kidnapping ......

Rating By Julia,18/11/2014

The story starts with a large dose of excitement with Richard of Dunstan kidnapping Isabella of Warehaven. It had a good start to the story showing both of the main characters in a combatant mood. Isabella was on the eve of her betrothal when Richard took her. She was unsure about the match as she had observed her husband-to-be being intimate with another woman. She felt dislike towards him but she never wished to leave her home which is what Richard did to her. Richard has already been married and loosing both his wife and child he is out for revenge. This is the only element driving his life on right now. It was more for his child then his wife who gave him a distrust of all women. There is a fair amount of dislike in Isabella especially after she is made to marry her captor. Slowly as the characters go through the story they start to learn more about each other. Several threats pop up at Dunstan but being an island that was hard to get on unless you knew the route, Richard knows it could only be someone on the island. There is an investigation and a few shocking truths but both characters are parted. The ending was sweet and I found the story a little lacking in excitement from the big action beginning it was given. The story sort of lapsed a bit in the middle. The characters explored within Dunstan added colour but something was just lacking for me. It has a wonderful ending but you have to wade through the middle to get there. There are some things happening in the middle but really they felt like they were written for bumping out the book and not for any real story value but that is a shame and the beginning and the ending had great promise. As seems more often then not, the ending was lacking in several details which was annoying to say the least. You get a birth pending and marriage pending and not told anything more about both events. The ending needed to round of the story a lot more than it did. It leaves you to sort of write your own instead because you do get left up in the air somewhat. The characters have merit and they were a pleasure to read. It was just a shame the story didn’t quite fulfil the characters or the readers needs.
