Trevor entered her in one smooth thrust, widening and deepening their connection until she thought she’d die from the exquisite sensations pulsing through her. And then he stopped.
Valerie opened her eyes, looked into his, so close to hers. “Now, Trevor.”
“I’ll never get enough of you, Val.” He stared at her with total abandon, the raw vulnerability something she’d never witnessed in another lover. Had never experienced in herself, either.
“Try me.” She thrust up and against him, and just when she couldn’t take the waiting, the wanting, the needing any longer, Trevor began to move against her. As desperate as their first kisses had been, reminding her of being a teenager, their joining brought them together as she imagined lifelong lovers experienced their union. As if they’d known one another years, decades instead of only hours.
Powerless against the waves of her orgasm, she cried out his name just before he called to her, ending what she wished could last forever.

They lay together for several minutes, coming down from the high of the best sex of Trevor’s life. He was careful to rest his weight on his forearms, not wanting to crush her. As reality tumbled back in, he took measure of their surroundings. And grimaced.
“What? Are you hurt?” Valerie’s worry lines reappeared as her brows drew together. He’d find her concern touching if he wasn’t so disgusted with himself.
“No, not at all. This isn’t how you deserve to be made love to, though.” He pushed himself up, pulled up his trousers and sat on the ground next to her. She mirrored him, and when he caught the flash of red panties as she dressed, he looked away, not wanting to appear lecherous. But her quick gaze caught his.
“Now’s not the time to turn shy, Trevor.” Valerie laughed.
“Your blush betrays you.” He watched her expression. “I, I wasn’t too rough, was I?” He stood and held out his hand to her.
“Trevor.” She placed her hand in his and allowed him to help her stand in one quick motion. “One thing you need to know about me is that I don’t have sex unless I want to. And I wanted to, wanted you, right here and right now.” Her blush deepened and his body began to respond—
“Then I’m glad to oblige. But now we need to get a move on. You need to get back to your car and go home. Do not stop for anyone or anything. You have enough gas?” He had to get her away from what could become a bloody takedown.
“I’m an experienced hiker, Trevor. I never arrive at a site without enough gas to get out of it safely, no matter the weather. Do you want to check the chains I carry, too?” She smiled but her tone was direct, her message clear. Valerie knew how to take care of herself. “I work for Cascade Confidential. I’ve seen a lot of bad cases, trust me.”
