About Karen

I'd toyed with the idea of writing for years, but it wasn't until our family got our first computer in the mid-nineties – and I discovered the magic that was the Delete feature (no more White-Out, yay!) – that I got serious about it. Fast forward to the present, and I've written more than forty novels for Harlequin, across several lines. I write what I know – family-centric stories with everyday heroes and heroines I'd like as friends, with plenty of kids and animals tossed into the mix. And, since I believe life wouldn't be worth living without a sense of humor, so do my characters...even when they're thrown some pretty steep curves.

I'm the mother of five now-grown sons, and the ridiculously proud grandmother of two more boys (so far!) – all of whom provide much fodder for my stories. I'm a huge fan of quirky, off-beat TV shows (Eureka, The Big Bang Theory, Nurse Jackie, The United States Of Tara), as well as past and current BBC faves (Downton Abbey, Call the Midwife, Larkrise to Candleford, Coupling, The Vicar of Dibley). I was raised on the East Coast of the United States, but for thirty years now I have made my home in the American Southwest, with its endless, brilliant blue skies and majestic Rocky Mountain vistas.
