I can't think of anything I’d rather be doing than writing romance novels.
Like many authors, I had my share of professions before turning full-time to writing fiction: college, high school and nursery school teacher, advertising executive and newspaper reporter and editor. These experiences all contributed to my writing career. Teaching brought out the importance of making the material relevant. Advertising emphasised meeting the expectations of the target audience. And newspaper reporting stressed the necessity of getting the facts straight and writing to a deadline.
With these lessons in mind, I work to create empathetic characters in stories that fulfill a reader's dreams in settings that are vivid and true to life. And don't forget the dollop of humour.
I live in New Jersey with my husband, two teenaged sons and a dog named Jack. I try very hard to go to the gym three days a week, where I seem to spend a great deal of time adjusting my headphones. When the opportunity arises, you can find me plying Australia's waters, snorkelling off the Great Barrier Reef.
