As you might have guessed, we're huge fans of BBC's Poldark ...
I was born in England and, being an Army child, lived all over the UK in my youth. I grew up loving history, especially the glamourous (if rather riské) Georgians, particularly the Regency era as drawn by Georgette Heyer. It was this love that eventually prompted me to write my first Regency novel in 2000. Although I had a successful career in administration, the call of the past and the stories in my imagination bought me to a fork in the road and after my first book became published in 2006, I decided to write full time. I haven’t looked back!
I now live in Canada with my husband, Keith, our two lovely daughters and our rescue Maltese Terrier, Teaser, who thinks it’s mint that I stay at home with him all day as he curls up on the chair next to my computer while I write.
I still have lots of family in England, so we travel back once a year to see everyone and love to take the opportunity to seek out those special little nooks and crannies in the country and help bring my stories to life.
I also love to hear from my readers just as much as I love to give my characters happy endings! If you would like to get in touch with me, please visit my website.
Earlier this year we sat down with Regency author Ann Lethbridge to talk about inspiration, writing and Richard Armitage (of course).
