About Rosalie

I am a member of the Society of Authors and the Romantic Novelists Association and the proud author of 21 successful bestselling contemporary romance novels, published by Harlequin Mills and Boon between 1989 and 1999. Those ten years of full time novel writing gave me wonderful opportunities. The excuse to research locations (lots of lovely holidays). The excuse to research fascinating characters (lots of site visits and interviews with interesting and often rather hunky professionals, lawyers, business moguls, polo players, yachtsmen). The chance to get all dressed up and give numerous talks at conferences, universities, and book fairs. Most of all , the chance of seeing my books in print - hardbacks, paperbacks, worldwide distribution, translations into more languages than I could keep track of.

But the glamorous life in the ivory tower began to stifle my creativity. A shake-up was needed. In an extreme case of writer’s block, and/or displacement activity (which you have to agree beats tidying the sock drawer) my husband and I bought an old house in south-west France, and spent many happy summers refurbishing, improving, planting roses and jasmine and watching for hoopoes and barn owls. In the UK we acquired an allotment and toiled vigorously to grow organic fruit and vegetables, success offset only by marauding rabbits and gale-force winds that blew away our shed. I then decided to drag myself, protesting loudly, completely out of my romantic bubble to let myself loose on the unsuspecting world of work. I became a freelance PA, minute-taker, legal secretary, meeting planner and event executive.

Now, over a decade on, I have relented and decided to stop torturing myself and exasperating my employers (well, almost all of them) and have started writing romantic fiction again. Hopefully, the years of self-imposed exile have brought fresh warmth and humour to my love stories. I can’t wait to start sharing them with you again.
