Hannah nodded, even as a part of her wanted to say, No, not just one night. But that was all it could be. ‘One night and then we move on.’
Lukas kissed her again, deeply, explicitly. His hands learned every curve and erogenous point. Hannah explored him too, hands spread across his chest and then down to lean hips, and around to his firm, muscular buttocks.
She maneuvered herself so she was under him. He looked down at her, a slight smile. ‘So impatient.’
Hannah wrapped her arms around his neck. ‘Take me, Lukas.’
He said, ‘It might hurt at first—’
But she shook her head. ‘No, it won’t. I trust you.’
Lukas groaned, ‘Hannah—’
She reached down with one hand and encircled him. He stopped talking, moving. She lifted her hips up until he was nudging her entrance. She took her hand away.
Without another word, he joined their bodies in one cataclysmic thrust. Hannah had been right. It didn’t hurt…but she felt full. So full she couldn’t take a breath for a moment. Every muscle and sinew was adapting to Lukas’s body within hers.
It felt so right. Like coming home. She looked up at him and there was an expression of something like shock on his face. And then it was gone, and she wasn’t sure if she’d imagined it. He started to move, in and out. He took her hand and interlaced their fingers, putting it above her head.
The tension built and built again, and even though Hannah knew what to expect, she wasn’t ready for the fall, sending her high before spiralling down and down into a vortex of pleasure so intense that she could only cling on and hope she would remain in one piece.

Lukas was still wide-eyed some hours later. What had just happened…he’d never experienced anything like it. The limitless pleasure—so excruciatingly intense.
Hannah was curled into him, her soft curves melting into his harder form. Her breath feathering across his skin.
He knew what had just happened was unprecedented. That he already wanted Hannah again with a hunger that made him very nervous.
He’d spent years avoiding intensity. Avoiding getting close to people. Hannah had accused him of living in limbo and she wasn’t wrong. But limbo was safe. He couldn’t hurt anyone in limbo and no one could hurt him because he didn’t care enough about anyone.
But this…had broken every rule and boundary he’d put around himself. He’d never get that image of Hannah, naked, lying back on the bed, offering herself to him with such trust, out of his head.
She moved minutely and that set off a chain reaction in his blood, his body responding before he could control it. She lifted her head. She looked deliciously tousled and well-loved. She’d been a virgin.
‘Are you ok?’
She nodded and smiled. Lukas’s chest felt tight. She saw something over his shoulder and frowned slightly. ‘It’s dawn.’
He looked too and the sky was clear, turning pink. The storm had passed. Another day was dawning. The night was over. Just one night.
As if having the same thought, Hannah said with a tinge of urgency in her voice, ‘Make love to me again, Lukas.’
He looked at her, knowing that he should say no, end it now. Here. But all he could see were her huge eyes, full of the same desperation he was feeling. His blood was pounding. Any sense of control he’d had was unravelling at the seams.
He pulled her over him and her hair fell in a curtain around them, blocking out the rising sun. Blocking out the certainty that he would regret this.
