MIDWIFE…TO MUM by Sue MacKay will tear up your emotions, leaving you feeling warm and fuzzy deep inside your heart. Deeply touching characters, an exceptionally well-developed plot, and powerful dialogue, dramatic prose set against the medical world of mid-wifery—delivering bundles of joy into the world is sure to deliver bundles of joy into your hearts too! I personally and absolutely recommend to medical fans craving happily-ever-after stories, powerful and gripping, getting MID-WIVES ON CALL 2-IN-1. A bundle of two make-your-heart-mushy reads by Sue MacKay and Susan Carlisle! 5/5 Stars

Worthwhile read

The best aspect of Sue MacKay novels is always the setting - here the intriguing Phillip Island not far from Melbourne. I wasn't overkeen on Flynn's son Adam but he doesn't pervade the story excessively and both Flynn and Ally are pleasing characters and it was interesting to see how Ally overcame her inferior complex as to an inability to be loved. I'm always dubious where one of the characters has been married and loved deeply before - can anything else be other than second best? - but the story moves along at a fast pace, there are interesting situations with regard to Ally's midwifery and a particularly nice ending make this a worthwhile read. Eight point five out of ten
