Fun in the Caribbean

Series Rakes of the Caribbean 1 _ Craving the Rake’s Touch ______ 01/15 ~~~( Benedict and Sarah ) Historical Undone ebook 2 _ Playing the Rake’s Game ______ 01/15 ~~~( Ren and Emma ) 3 _ Breaking the Rake’s Rules ______ 02/15 ~~~( Kitt and Bryn ) There are two stories that run at the same time, Craving the Rake’s Touch which is under the Historical Undone ebooks and Playing the Rake’s Game. Ren and Sarah are brother and sister. This one is a good introduction to the characters. Ren Dryden, Kitt Sherard and Benedict DeBreed who have grown up together and remained friends from school. Ren is looking to restore the family fortunes. His salvation comes in a sugar plantation on Barbados. He knows he has 51 percent inherited from his cousin Merrimore. He assumes he will be dealing with investors but he ends up dealing with just one stubborn woman. Emma Ward wants to believe that the new part owner of the plantation will not arrive but her hopes are dashed and big time when Ren steps into her life. Someone who has been abused and used in her lifetime she is cautious and has a big dislike for the man who would control her home. Her fears are increased when she finds he is in the company of Kitt Sherard. Her heart skips a beat when she sees that Ren is not the older gentleman she was expecting. Her reaction to him stuns her. There are moments of tension between Emma and Ren during the time they try to get to know each other. Factors in the shape of Gridley a neighbour who is very much after Emma and Sugarland the plantation, add more spice to the story. Emma knows Gridley’s dark secret and tells him so when he gives a dinner for Ren. The businessmen headed by Gridley and Devore are trying to set up a cartel of the growers and need everyone on board. They try to woe Ren into the cartel and he takes time to consider. During this time though Ren and Emma become closer. Things start to happen like a fire in the chicken coop. Gridley inviting himself for a visit. These things start to ring bells of warning for Ren. Everything happens very quickly near the end of the book. Gridley and Devore over play their hands. Ren and Kitt go after them and the rest of the cartel. The book had some interesting aspects and insights into the world of sugar plantations and the Caribbean. I think it will be a wonderful trilogy. You already feel so much for Ren, Emma and Kitt within this story and fingers crossed that Kitt’s story will be just a fun. The story ended a little quickly but it ended in a good place. However, it would be wonderful to see Ren and Emma and catch up with them in Kitt’s story.

Sexy historical

A fair enough plot and an appealing hero but too much sexual content for my personal taste. Six out of ten
