Great read

I really enjoyed this emotional read from Carol Marinelli. The characters were believable and what was nice about this story was that the story line wasn't entirely predicatable. Both Emily and Hugh were well portrayed with the medical situations believable. I do wish I had a £ for every clinician who'd managed to fall accidentally pregnant!

This is quite a light-hearted and humorous novel although with some harsh medical detail included. Hugh is one of the most appealing and well-rounded heroes Mrs Marinelli has scripted in a long while while you can relate to Emily although she is pretty uptight about her family relationships. Since it is part of the plot from the beginning I don't think it is a spoiler to mention that the story quickly jumps three years during which Emily has a live-in relationship. This seems to be the norm now but personally it does somewhat spoil my enjoyment. However, overall this is an entertaining and interest holding read, one of the author's best recent books.
