Italian billionaire Emiliano Cannavaro knows everyone has their price…
Especially Lauren Westwood, the sister of his brother’s duplicitous wife and the only woman ever to come close to melting his cool defences! When tragedy strikes, Emiliano will gain custody of his young orphaned nephew – even if the boy is currently under Lauren’s care.
Innocent Lauren isn’t the gold-digger he believes, and she won’t be bought! But when Emiliano offers her an ultimatum – come to his house in the Caribbean with the child or see him in court – she chooses to face him head-on. She’ll not give up without a fight – and it promises to be explosive!

A book of two halves
Mrs Power is right up there as one of my favourite authors whom I can usually rely on for a riveting read.
Certainly the outline of the plot and the beginning of the book have all Mrs Power's hallmarks - appealing alpha male and strong heroine, great tension and dialogue, a sundrenched Caribbean setting and misunderstanding of the other's character.
However, most of this was resolved half way through and I was puzzled as to where the second half was going. Unfortunately, for most of this it just marked time and was strangely flat until near the ending when it exploded to life again.
Not really what I expected from Mrs Power and a major disappointment although a great read for the first half.
Incidentally, if the cover has any bearing on your enjoyment of the story, well Emiliano as depicted is one of the most dangerously attractive M&B heroes ever!
Six point five out of ten
Unmissable read of the highest Modern genre!
Yet again a seasoned writers of this genre exceeds all expectations! There is gripping repartee, simple storyline and the hero Emiliano is all that a woman will want in a man and Lauren is typical of a woman who has the charm and beauty to entice a man. Thrown into their lives is a child who engenders the interest of the reader and add to that the exotic locations and you have a perfect romance with a capital R. A ten out of ten indeed.
