Good value for money

Rating By Vivien,27/06/2012

Unfortunately, I have previously found Mills & Boon short story anthologies somewhat bland (the vampire anthologies have been particularly disappointing). This book is a welcome improvement. All the stories are good - not great but still good. I was initially attracted to this collection by Carole Mortimer as I have read a few of her books for both the Modern and Historical lines, and I did like her story very much as it was quite amusing. I had not read any of the other authors, but my favourite story is Seducing A Stranger by Christine Merrill which features a soldier with an almost medieval sense of honour and which is written in quite a spare manner that I found veryrefreshing as Regency can sometimes be a little overblown for my taste. I look forward to reading more work from this author. So this collection has fulfilled one of the purposes of an anthology, which is to introduce the reader to new writers. Very pleased by this book.
