Being reunited with her childhood sweetheart is quite a surprise for Paediatric Consultant Jessica Rae. Especially as the boy she once knew is now a sinfully sexy, lifesaving firefighter! Even now, single dad Callum Kennedy still makes her heart go boom – something this grieving doctor never again thought possible…
For Callum and his gorgeous son, Drew, Jessica could be just what his heartbroken little family needs. And he’ll do anything to convince her that he’s just what she needs too… starting with a heart-stopping Christmas kiss!

A story of two halves
This is very much a story of two halves.
The first part of the book was enthralling immediately entering into medical drama and re-introducing childhood sweethearts Callum and Jessica and was as good as any M&B Medical I have ever read.
Both have sadness in their background. Callum is a real heartthrob and everyday type of guy while you emphathise with Jessica whom your heart goes out to.
However the second half of the book is taken over mostly by Callum's son which isn't really what I want to read about in this genre.
I do feel gutted for Callum because it feels he is somehow only getting second best. There are several references to the fact that Jessica's late husband was "the love of her life".
Overall a worthwhile read though.
Eight out of ten
You'll need a box of tissue. The characters where all very likeable. A great read from Scarlet Wilson.
Sweet Caroline? More like scandalous Caroline
I loved, loved, loved this book. From the first chapter this was something I could not put down. Twists and turns, keeping me turning page over and over. The faster the story got, the faster I turned.
The chemistry between Caroline and Sebastian is bordering on nuclear. Yet the descriptions of 18th Century England are fluid and smooth as a baby's bottom. I loved the emotion and the baggage Caroline carried. Sebastian, the perfect romantic hero, yet with an edge that borderlines on dangerous. A wonderful read. Highly recommended. Make sure you have plenty of tea and the kids and husband are out of the house. This is a book that is to be devoured.
