Well balanced series hope Cade's Story is coming

Compellingly written but flawed characters

Rating By R,30/04/2013

Bringing the NYC Angels series to a close this is more like the Alison Roberts of old with plenty of passion and tension plus first class medical content. However, I was dubious about certain aspects of Alex and Layla's characters. Even in today's climate I do not find an affair where the heroine is currently married, acceptable. I couldn't see any extenuating circumstances. Alex's experience as a youth made him too impetuous in dealing with possible cases of child abuse which was a serious aspect of his position. Moreover, while he may have had justifiable reasons for not wanting to present a case to colleagues at monthly report he was professionally obliged to do so and to just not turn up without makinga prior apology simply showed a lack of class. So despite the compelling text I could not really warm to either of the main characters. As a general comment this series as a whole could only be described as average - it paled beside the magnificent Sydney Harbour Hospital continuity, Seven out of ten
