Out of the limelight and into the fire…

Haunted by one scandal too many, tabloid-savaged and vulnerable, Larissa Whitney turns her back on her gilded fortune. Desperately hiding from the paparazzi’s relentless flashbulbs, Larissa escapes to a small secluded island, seeking refuge. But she’s not alone – instead, Larissa finds herself face to face with Jack Endicott Sutton…

Now she’s trapped on an island with a man she had a wild affair with five years before… A man she’s still achingly attracted to. A man who knows the truth is even more scandalous than the headlines…

One of my favourite 2011 Moderns

Rating By Sue,21/12/2011

Definitely one of my favourite 2011 Moderns. So it's great that it's rated the best by other readers too. Caitlin Crews is an auto buy author for me now.

Rating By R,01/09/2011

This was interesting in that it contained characters which the author had used in a previous novel and expanded the plot. Jack is a divine hero but he deserved better than Larissa whom I found annoying and couldn't find any sympathy with at all. Six out of ten.

The way we were

Rating By Nahid,23/10/2011

Absolute must read. Very different to the previous Whitney story, however, equally gripping, for a variety of reasons; most notably the class insights. Larissa is flawed, and this is beautifully drawn out in a number of ways. For all her 'flawness', I felt she is one of the more memorable heroines that I will remember from these romances. Jack is just to die for. I can imagine in him a young Robert Redford!

Deeper than usual M&B

Rating By Christine,29/10/2011

Complex, credible characters in H and h, although not in other significant ones, who are uni-dimensional. Presents a heroine who masks her deepest pain by self-inflicting lesser, bearable ones, which she has control of. Psychologically credible. Enjoyed greatly. Look forward to more for this from the author.
