Another emotional tour de force from Ms Green... Particularly loved the hero's genuine and yet touching interaction with his toddler daughter. Warmed my heart... and a few other things besides!!

Luke warm.

Abby Green is classed as one of my favourite authors, so when I read the first chapter online, I couldn't wait to get stuck in. She has a great set up in the first chapter when Rico who is dining with a woman and is sidetracked when he realises who the waitress is, his one night stand two years ago, Gypsy. Fast forward and a lot of things are unravelled but I was disappointed by the annoying Rico. Green consistently portrays his arrogance in the form of him knowing his own mind and making the decisions, which is the way the plot goes but I was finding myself skimming through the pages out of sheer boredom. Not the greatest book of Green's, I've read but certainly not the last.

Inferior hero.

It would seem that I was reading a different book to everyone else! I disliked Rio's over-the-top reaction to the news he had a daughter and then his single-minded determination to have everything his own way. This set the tone for me and I had a real struggle to read to the end. 4.5 out of 10.
