My first stories were inspired by my childhood love of Man O’ War, Secretariat and The Black Stallion by Walter Farley. What began with bubbles of dialogue above cartoon drawings of horses eventually led to hand-written tales of adolescent love.
Years later, and two months after I graduated from Colorado State University with a BS in geology, my mother died very suddenly and the entire course of my life was changed. The writer in me resurfaced, and I began to seriously pursue a writing career.
As Associate Project Manager for the Spacecraft Systems Segment of a satellite imagery and information company, I work with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and cat-herd my rocket scientist co-workers. When I’m not writing or trying not to daydream at work, you’ll find me playing volleyball, hiking, flower gardening, socialising, or cuddling with my rescued golden retriever and feisty yellow lab.
