'Simply a Kansas girl' is the best way to describe me. Born, raised and still living in the Sunflower State, I’ve also travelled to forty eight other U.S. states, Canada, Mexico and even Cuba. Instead of souvenirs, I collected Little Golden Books. Each were inscribed with my name, date and the location where they were purchased.
As an only child, reading was my favourite pastime. Later on, I tried my hand at writing and coerced the children in my neighbourhood and my younger cousins into performing the plays I wrote. In high school, I became actively involved in the drama department, including playing the roles of Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion, the mother in Life with Father and Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun. Years later, I helped form a local community theatre group, where I both I acted in and directed the groups productions, as well as serving on the board of directors. My romance reading journey began in high school when I read my first Georgette Heyer Regency novel. Favourites now include a variety of genres and authors, including Stephen King and Dan Brown, among many others. I’ve come to the conclusion that reading, writing and acting are nothing more than ways to become 'someone else,' at least for a little while.
I’ve lived on a farm, in a small town and finally returned with my four daughters and grandchildren to live in the city where I was born. Books and reading are not only an integral part of my life, but my family's, as well. (My oldest granddaughter is named Scarlett. Yes, from Gone with the Wind). When I’m not writing or reading, I’m designing websites. I love to hear from readers, check out my website if you'd like to get in touch.
