About Janet

Hi! I'm Janet Lee Barton and I write for the Love Inspired Historical line. I love researching and writing heartwarming stories about faith, family, friends and of course – love. I was born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico, and have also lived in Florida, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi – until my husband retired from the National Weather Service. We now like in his home state of Oklahoma. I've set books in most of the states I've lived in, so it kind of surprised me when writing about historical New York City became an idea I couldn't let go of. I love researching the time and places my characters live in that huge city at the turn of the twentieth century!

My husband and I have recently downsized and have been busy redoing the kitchen – I love to cook and am looking forward to making many meals for our daughter, her family and our extended family and friends. We feel blessed to have family nearby.

When I'm not reading, writing or cooking, I like to sew, travel and garden. We're in a condo that allows me a lot of gardening space to plant whatever we want. Right now it's trial and error on what will work and what won't, but I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I hope you'll come by and visit me at my website where you can find out more about my upcoming work.
