Connect with Susan
I grew up in Seattle in a house filled with testosterone. Currently I live… in a house filled with testosterone. Still in the minority in my own home, I’m surrounded by my high-school sweetheart, my son and our varied collection of all-male pets.
I never intended to be a writer. In fact, I wanted to be a dental assistant – though that prospect was duly abandoned when I realised that I didn’t like 99% of the dentists I worked for! I had written all my life – just little bits and pieces that I kept for myself, but I never really felt I had the life experience to string together an entire book, until I turned thirty. A friend suggested that I try writing for series romance and as my son was young and I had the freedom to give it a go, I thought ‘why not?’
Given my early training in dealing with men, I found I was a natural at the dynamics and pitfalls of the male/female experience and I saw my first novel published in 1989.
I love to write fast-paced story lines with wry humour where the guy always gets the girl... just as long as he’s willing to bend a little.
