I was born in Scottsboro, Alabama, to parents who taught me that anything is possible if you want it badly enough. I loved telling stories and began writing at the age of nine. Growing up on a farm in rural Alabama provided the wide open spaces and fertile ground for my vivid imagination. When I met and married the man of my dreams, I put my writing aside and tried some other occupations, including working in door-to-door sales, various factories and restaurants, a day care centre, a hospital and a department store. Shortly after the birth of my first daughter my husband joined the military and I decided to go to college. Eventually the U.S. Army took us to Berlin and I accepted a position as secretary in the commanding general’s office. By 1985, we were back in the States, and my next major career move landed me at NASA in the Space Shuttle Program. For more than a dozen years after returning to the States, I lived with my family in a small Tennessee town where everyone knew everyone else. A few years after we settled there, I gave birth to my second daughter. Though it had been nearly two decades since I last put pen to paper, in 1996 I took up writing again. With the support of my family and God’s blessing my dream of being published came true in March of 1999. My life has come full circle now. Me and my family, along with our three dogs, have moved back home to Alabama where I continue to write spine-tingling romantic suspense stories.
