I believe that romance novels are like the country music of popular fiction. People readily relate to the themes and emotions of a romance story in the same way they enjoy the honest, down-to-earth sentiments of a country song. And while romances are always entertaining; a good story – like good music – has quality and depth that touch the heart.
I was born and raised in Southern Ontario and my first career ambition was actually to be a mad scientist… or an astronaut. Or a spy. When I discovered that I could do all those things through books, my path took another turn entirely.
I earned a degree in English Literature and, after working as a high school teacher in Northern Quebec and then raising my three children, I finally combined my lifelong love of reading with my English degree to pursue a career in writing.
Since I published my first novel in 1994, I am thrilled to say that my books have reached the Waldenbooks and the U.S.A. Today bestseller lists and 1998, I was presented with the Romance Writers of America prestigious RITA Award for Romantic Suspense.
I currently live near Toronto, where you will usually find me hard at work on my next book.
