About Maggie

Hello! I’m Maggie Shayne and I write novels. Lots and lots of novels. By the end of 2013, I will have published 58 full length novels and 24 novellas ranging from romantic suspense to paranormal romance. I’ve written for 7 major publishers and two of the US’s popular daytime television dramas (Guiding Light and As the World Turns.) I also had a long running newspaper advice column, which is now a nonfiction book, Shayne on You.

I’ve had a lot of accolades in my 20 years in the biz. Some of my favourites have been my 17 Rita Award nominations and finally, winning the darn thing in 2005. This year I’m receiving the Career Achievement Award in Paranormal Romance from RT Book Review Magazine – my second of those.

Aside from writing, I’ve become something of a guru of The Law of Attraction and do a lot of spiritual counselling for those who come asking for help and advice. I am known to read tarot cards and cast a whopper of a spell every now and again. I’m a fitness buff and enjoy working out with my partner. I also love the outdoors, hiking, jogging, kayaking, bird watching (especially raptors) photography, singing, my salt water coral reef aquarium and just being alive. I am truly blessed and absolutely happy.

I live with my fiance, Lance, in a beautiful, century old farmhouse named 'Serenity' in very rural part of New York State where there are more cows than humans. Together, we are living the kind of love I write about. In addition to our fish and corals, (and soon, seahorses!) we have a pair of giant English Mastiffs, Dozer & Daisy, a little English Bulldog, Niblet, and two felines, Glory, the ageing and cranky matriarch and Butters, the kitten who thinks he’s one of the dogs.

I have a very active and lively Facebook page, a place of positive, uplifting posts, friendship, sharing and support, where we sometimes discuss books and often give things away. I hope to see you there!
