About Pam

I’m a writer, a professor and a crazed mom of three preschoolers. My first novel Kommandant’s Girl was published by Mira in 1997 and became an international bestseller (UK Top 50!)  Since then, I’ve written five more novels, including The Diplomat’s Wife and The Ambassador’s Daughter.

My love of all things historical comes from my studies at Cambridge (where I wrote my masters thesis on the Paris Peace Conference) and from my years working on Holocaust issues as a diplomat for the State Department in Krakow, Poland. I always wanted to be a novelist, but it was an epiphany following the tragic events of 9/11 that finally prompted me to get going and realise my dream.

I live outside Philadelphia with my husband and kids. When I'm not working I love playing with my children outdoors, trips to the beach, running, outlet shopping with my mom and taking in games of (American) football. An occasional  nap would also be nice (but highly unlikely!). I think that one of the greatest things about writing today is the ability for authors and readers to connect and have real, on-going relationships and dialogue, so please feel free to contact me via my website, or on Facebook or Twitter.
