I was born the youngest of four children, at a seaside town on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. My mother was a talented dressmaker, and my father was a country school teacher and brilliant sportsman who transferred to another coastal town in the countryside, called Gosford, when I was ten.
After leaving convent school, I briefly studied the cello before moving to Sydney, where I embraced the emerging world of computers. My career as a programmer ended after I married, had three daughters and we bought a small acreage in a semi-rural community. Soon after, I attempted greyhound training, as well as horse and goat breeding, but found I was left dissatisfied; I yearned to find a creative career. When my sister suggested writing romances, it seemed like a good idea – I figured I could do it at home and thought it might even be fun!
It took a decade of trial and error before my first romance, After the Affair, was accepted and published. I’ve since written numerous stories and have no plans to slow down any time soon. I have one credo when writing romances: Don’t bore the reader! So I love to write stories with pacy and sexy rhythms, passionate, true to life characters, and enduring, memorable story lines that I hope will keep readers engaged for many more books yet to come.
