I was born and raised in the rolling countryside of Cheshire, about ten miles from Manchester. As a child I loved sports. Oh, and writing!
Though I'd always had it in the back of my mind somewhere that I wanted to write, life had always seemed too busy to settle down to actually complete a novel – bringing up three children, teaching in a primary school, and later helping to run a small family business all meant that, for me, writing was just one of those things I always 'meant to do'. Eventually when my kids left home, I found that elusive bit of time that I had been waiting for.
I'd always had an interest in all things medical, and decided the next best thing to being a doctor or nurse myself was writing about them and their lives and loves! It wasn no overnight success, but after several failed attempts the great day came when my first novel was accepted and I found the confidence to go ahead and write full time for Mills & Boon.
When I'm not writing, I love walking and playing golf in the Highlands of Scotland – and meeting up with my special writing friends for gossipy lunches and encouragement.
