Naomi Sinclair fell for Andreas Sarantos , and am talking the so hard can't think about anything else kind of hard. Marrying him had seared her soul with pleasure but also despair as she discovered the man was incapable of love. Their worlds drift apart until he shows up and uses the leverage of a his best friend's baby to bring Naomi back in to his life and his bed, and this time he plans on keeping her there forever. But Naomi has been through this pleasure and no love runaround before and it's going to take much more to get her to stay, if only her heart will listen and not her body who craves the man incapable of love. A very enjoyable read, with good intense emotional drama, an awesome hero and a likable heroine and a very nice reunion plot. The character of Andreas was a real bad-ass kind but the kind that you knows appears tough because he sometimes has no choice but to be tough due to his background, but he also all kinds of sweet, kind and truly considerate. Yes, here and there he does come off as a little too mean towards Naomi but I feel that this was his inner fear coming to life at the thought of " If I don't toughen up I will lose her again". I will also say that when he lost her the first time it was not about the kind of "I am letting her go because there is no hope for me to love her " situation but more about knowing he needs to let her go in order to protect her, which again brings forth just how very kind and deep the heart of this man is, as oppose to the tough exterior that the outside world sees. The combination of bad-ass - considerate was lethal enough to make me fall for this hero over and over and over again! The character of Naomi was a stronger heroine than I thought she would be. I was expecting her to be a little more weak, considering that she is willing to change her life completely in order to be with the man she loves, which reminds me so much of those stories of woman who has one type of personality when with one guy and changes into a complete different person when they end up with someone new. But those woman are usually weak and think that the love of a man makes them stronger but in order to gain the man's love they need to change. Breaking down your personality and rebuilding it each time someone new comes along will eventually in will only show you as weak, you need to stick to your guns and if the person cannot love you for you then there is no point. Compromise is good but not if you have to reinvent yourself completely. I am taking away a message of life has all kinds of scenarios that play out. Some are for the best and others not so much. But which ever scenario plays out the reaction you take towards it will be what counts. If you decide to change it all in order to make it work to your advantage it will most likely work out according to plan but somewhere along the way it will come back to haunt you. And if you decide to play it by ear and take it one day at a time and stick to your strengths you will have a much more effective outcome and still be able to sleep at night. I recommend this read for anyone that loves a good reunion story with lots of emotion, angst and a nice set of conflict scenes and good old fashioned passion popping from the pages. The book also includes a few twists and turns that I did not see coming , this showed the author still has that special magic we have come to love from her books! 4.5 star review " He makes her an offer she has no choice but to except, but it's not to say its an offer she'll stand by for the long-run"
