Refreshing

Rating By R, 18 Mar 2014

Trent Dalton appeared in Ms Gianna's debut novel and I must say that I didn't really expect him to surface as a future hero. He was a fascinating study - on the surface he has a superficial, love-'em-and leave-'em attitude to life although this covered hidden and admirable depths which he didn't wish revealed, to his character. Charlotte was slightly buttoned up but likable enough and you could understand her motives but without any spoilers you can make your own mind up as to whether "the end justified the means". The setting of Liberia in West Africa was refreshing and the story including the medical detail was interesting. All in all an enjoyable read. Eight point five out of ten
