The Heart of a Rebel – from Alison Roberts Legendary doctors who aren’t afraid to break the rules!

The Honourable Maverick

Marriage with children is not for Max. But how can he turn away pregnant nurse Ellie from his doorstep? When he holds her tiny baby in his arms, Max’s protective instinct kicks in – making him claim he’s her husband. A word that feels better than he ever expected!

The Unsung Hero

Renowned neurosurgeon and incorrigible playboy Rick Wilson has his sights set on Sarah – until she drops her bombshell: her nephew is his son, and the boy needs his bone marrow… Only Sarah can help this roguish doctor on the rocky road to fatherhood…

Varying standards

Rating By R, 07 Mar 2011

Even though by the same author I found a big difference instandard between these two novels. I enjoyed the setting of Dunedin, one of the lesser known New Zealand cities for both of them. The Honourable Maverick Max is a super sexy hero and while it may be a bit unfair in the circumstances in which Ellie found herself I felt she could have had a bit more backbone and I couldn't really relate to her. the plot was just a little bit too dark for my liking. 6.5 out of 10. The Unsung Hero If there are initial reservations about the character of the hero Rick these disappear as he grows in stature evolving with the story. Sarah is a heroine you can easily identify with. This is an evocative story which left me with a warm fuzzy feeling - in fact I may have been just a little in love with Rick! 10 out of 10.
