After living for thirty years in the Seattle suburbs, my husband and I recently moved to our dream home on Washington state’s Olympic Peninsula. It feels wonderful to have escaped to such a lovely rural area and we now reside between Sequim and Port Angeles where we have a wonderful view of the mountains. There are cows, horses and sheep nearby, which appeal to the heart of the girl who grew up on a West Texas ranch. They’re also quite an attraction to our Labrador-Kelpie mix, Cinder, who thoroughly enjoys the acre-and-a-quarter of ‘meadow’ that used to be part of a hay farm. Along with everyone else in the neighbourhood, we’ve developed a fondness for the hundreds of cheerful yellow dandelions and pretty purple flowers mixed in with the remnants of hay. I’m planning to add more wildflowers next year… if opening the package and tossing the seeds into the wind works!
The only down side to moving away from Seattle is that we are now a two-hour drive from our son, Justin, and his wife, Erin. Thankfully they both love to escape to the country and so they still come to visit us often.
I feel blessed to have the opportunity to write stories of faith and the love of Jesus for the Harlequin Love Inspired series. I hope that readers will enjoy my stories just as much as I enjoy writing them.
