This has been an immensely satisfying read. A fast paced
'Modern' that got off to a rollicking start. It's the first
title that I've read by this author and I shall be enjoying
Fab 5 stars!
I enjoyed this M&B so much that I read it in one sitting. What makes it so enjoyable is the sparkly, meaningful dialogue between Kat & Mikhail. The plot is nothing new: an ordinary girl catches the eye of a billionaire tough guy who's not used to hearing the word "no". So he pays off Kat's debts in an effort to "persuade" her to come away with him on his yacht. She may b sweet but she's no pushover. She has real life problems & responsibilities, which make her easy to identify with. She seemed very real. There's a sincerity to her. Mikhail finds her refreshing, if frustrating! As I said, the dialogue is good, & meaningful. A sweet romantic story
The characters themselves seemed quite strong and there were near descriptions of the locations. I was a little disappointed as I couldn't quite take to either character and or the point of the argument waned I think even for both characters. But I do like Lynn Graham's ability to create scenes and settings the are delightful.
The prolific Mrs Graham seems to either hit peaks or troughs.
On paper this book shouldn't appeal to me - an older heroine, 35 and a virgin to boot - the hero five years younger.
But this one works.
As always the author's humour is outstanding. The anachronistic, stubborn Kat has brooding Russian billionaire Mikhail losing control of his emotions and slow to understand why, although he does hold out much longer than many previous characters.
The path the last couple of chapters take was a bit disappointing for me but overall this was another entertaining read from a favourite author.
