Hello, I'm Marcel Danesi, Ph.D., FRSC, and Professor of Anthropology and Semiotics at the University of Toronto, where I have been teaching full-time since 1974. I also have cross appointments at the University of Lugano and Middlebury College. I've written both technical articles on puzzles and math education and popular books on puzzles, including The Puzzle Instinct: The Meaning of Puzzles in Human Life (2002) and The Liar Paradox and the Towers of Hanoi: The Ten Greatest Math Puzzles of All Time (2004). Alongside this, I have designed and currently teach a course on the history and meaning of puzzles in everyday life at the university.
