About Lynne

I grew up in a seaside village in Northern Ireland with my parents and only brother. After learning to read at the age of three I simply never stopped and my active imagination meant that I loved fairy tales and playing with my imaginary best friend. Although I hated school, I loved studying at University in Edinburgh and had already penned my first romance novel at fifteen (just a year after meeting my husband for the first time, though we had a rocky path to the altar!) I had several manuscripts rejected before becoming published and I will never forget the delight I felt on seeing my first book on sale in my local newsagent!

I always knew I wanted a large family and I have five children, one natural and four that I have adopted from Sri Lanka and Guatemala. We live in a beautiful house in the country surrounded by five acres of wild woodland garden, where I love to walk with my dogs – two rescued Jack Russells and a toy poodle. We also have two rescue cats, hens, who never stop laying and a very stubborn goat. I walk every day in all weathers but enjoy the garden most in spring and summer.

I'm addicted to kids, books, chocolate, baths, log fires and four poster beds. I love exploring historic houses, castles and beautiful gardens and I collect everything from rare trees to rock specimens. I’m passionate about the joys of international adoption and equally passionate about growing roses. I’m also crazy about Christmas!

I have a keen interest in what makes people tick and believe that the good and bad times of even the most ordinary life give a writer the fuel to portray realistic emotions in their work.
