Once upon a time, I sang for my supper. No, really, I did! You know that little place reserved in pubs for 'the piano lady?' Well, that's where I sat, strumming my Yamaha guitar, in cities all over the U.S. and Canada. Now and then, I still blow the dust from the old 6-string to croon a tune or two, but mostly, I just write. And with the release of the third book in my new series for Harlequin Heartwarming, 'A Child to Love,' I'll have 100 books on the shelves. I've been blessed that, over the years, most of my stories have earned 4 and 5-star reviews, but what I'm most proud of are the dozens Readers' Choice awards I've won, because it's the readers' opinions I care most about!
My husband and I live in a modest home in Maryland, and enjoy spending time at our cozy cabin in Pennsylvania's Allegheny Mountains, where I've nearly perfected my 'identify the critter tracks' skills. God has blessed us with two lovely daughters and seven 'grandorables,' and because I believe in giving back, I donate a portion of my annual income to several worthwhile charities. (You can see the full list on the 'Giving Back' page on my website.)
While you're there, I hope you'll stop by and say hi, because I love hearing from my readers. Love it so much that some have become lifelong friends. Or you might prefer to touch base at Facebook or Twitter! In any case, I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. (Hopefully, we can swap tasty Weight Watchers-type recipes!)
