Back on form

Rating By R, 31 Jul 2012

I have to admit to some disappointment with the author's last few books but this one finds Mrs Brooks right back in form. Forde is a tantalising hero but basically just a regular guy while Melanie complemented him perfectly and I enjoyed her strength in standing up for what she believed was the right course of action to take. It was interestingly written from a pschological point of view in relation to Melanie. I did find the wind down at the end rather too long but overall it was a compelling read. Notwithstanding this ten out of ten

Amazingly different story

I am really enjoying this tory. I liked that for once the male lead wasn't the emotionally closed of character. Very different to other mills and boons story I have read almost like there has been a character exchange in the emotional stakes. From the get go we know how Forde feels and he is clearly frustrated but doesn't want to push Nell too far. I still haven't finished the book but am loving it so far. Great work from Helen Brooks. I'll definitely read some of her other books.

This is the first book that I have read by Helen Brooks. I absolutely loved the storyline. Mrs Brooks take on how love can triumph in the face of grief and loss was truly heart warming. Menanie and Forde's journey through a very difficult time in their marriage drew on every single emotion. I cried, I felt their sadness and their pain. I cheered for both of them as they once again drew close together and went on to have the family that they so deserved. I will be looking out for my titles penned by this gifted author.

Really enjoyed this story. Believable characters and a heart-rending storyline. The author took us on a journey which had us crying along with the characters and wanting them to come to a happy ending. 10 out of 10.
