About Julie

I was born and bred in Missouri, to parents who worked as a Marine and a speech/language therapist. I went on to become a teacher myself, and perhaps that's what has scored me the nickname the ‘Grammar Goddess’ in my local writing group, the Prairieland romance writers!

I joined the Harlequin family when my first Intrigue, One Good Man, was published in 2000. Since then, I have crafted the best-selling, award-winning Taylor Clan series for Intrigue, as well as its equally successful spin-off series, The Precinct. While I continue to write about cops and crime scenes for Intrigue, I occasionally write for Harlequin Blaze and other special projects at Harlequin – where my romantic suspense books get a steamier twist, and my military heroes have been especially popular. In addition, I write single title romantic suspense with a paranormal twist for Prairie Muse Publishing.

Since I began my writing career I have had the honour of going on to became a USA Today Bestselling author as well as receiving a National Readers Choice Award and two Daphne du Maurier's among other prizes. In 2009, it was my great pleasure to receive a Career Achievement Award in Series Romantic Suspense from Romantic Times Book Reviews. Several of my 50 books have appeared on the USA Today, Amazon and BookScan Top 100 Romances bestseller lists.

These days I live in Nebraska with my husband (a teacher and YA author), son (a college student majoring in Music Business) and an assortment of spoiled pets. I love to hear from my readers, please feel free to click my social links and get in touch.

Static crackled over the radio clipped to Justin Grant’s Kevlar vest. “Heads up, Grant. Stand down from Bravo Tango alert. Klein’s bomb is a dud. Second-floor lab clear.”Justin allowed himself a moment to breathe normally as he listened to his TAC team leader, Michael Cutler,...
