When I was a pre-schooler, I kept my books inside my grandmother's carved oak cabinet, to which only I had the key. Every day at reading time I'd unlock the cabinet – and the magical worlds contained in the books inside. Only later did I realise the characters I'd come to love weren't real, and that's when I knew I'd one day be a writer myself.
I’ve worked in libraries and as a book editor in New York City, but in 1993, my own dream to write finally came true when Wild Card Wedding became published. It received the Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award for Best First Series.
I've now published around thirty Harlequin titles and have given up the day job to write full-time. I often find the inspiration for my stories while I’m on the road, travelling between Pennsylvania, where I make my home, and my family's farm in West Virginia.
