Re-visit the glory days!

Rating By R, 01 Nov 2010

Set in the exotic Caribbean this is a good, rip-roaring, old-fashioned romance full of misunderstandings but up-to-date with sizzling sexual tension which is almost tangible right from the moment Matt, a particularly fascinating hero, and Rachel meet. Mrs Mather doesn't write so often now but this was well worth the wait and among her best novels 10 out of 10.

Hmmm

Rating By Mary, 25 Nov 2010

Anne Mather is my all-time favourite Mills & Boon author. If I'm having a rubbish day, I eat chocolate and re-read a well thumbed copy of Witchstone and the world immediately feels a better place. However, I struggled to enjoy Innocent Virgin Wild Surrender but don't really know why. It was well written and certainly quite steamy but, as another reviewer mentioned, left me feeling a little uncomfortable and, if I'm honest, underwhelmed. It also reminded me of Shattered Illusions, an earlier book that isn't on my backlist of favourites. Therefore, I've rated this only three out of five stars.

Disjointed Storyline

Rating By Rae, 29 Nov 2010

I have read Anne Mather's stories for a long time and always pounced on them as I felt that she wrote passionate and steamy love scenes long before any other Mills and Boon author. I am sorry to say that this story left me trying to fathom out what was going on and what it was trying to relate to the reader. The heroine was didnt appear to live in the 21st century and was so old fashioned. I thought I was reading something from the early 60's. I didnt think that it did Anne Mather justice as a romantic writer. I have given this two stars and hope that her next book comes back to the 21st century and provides the reader with the page turner that it would normally be.

This is a well-written book, descriptive and it's easy for you to visual the scenes/people described. It did remind me of other books written by Anne Mather but in a positive way. Unlike other reviews, I didn't feel uncomfortable reading this book. This is a more traditional love story and much more believable for it. Anne Mather has written a believable and loveable hero and you can understand why Rachel would fall in love with him. If I had one criticism it's that this book would have benefited from being a few pages longer - but I'm probably just being greedy!
