I've always had a fascination with history. I spent many an hour at school, daydreaming away about the way people lived and loved in different cultures across time. I was planning to be an archaeologist, after all, so I figured it was good practice!
Then I discovered Ashes in the Wind by Kathleen Woodiwiss, and was swept into historical fiction. What could be better than a guranteed happy ending? I read every historical romance I could get ahold of and re-read my keepers until they were tattered. The remainder of my secondary education became overshadowed by my love of historical romance – and dreams of writing one.
Alas, life often has other plans. There weren’t any local writing groups in those days, at least none that would be open minded about romance, so I drifted away from my writing. After meeting and marrying the man of my dreams, I settled into the work grind and focused on my business career.
Up until about five years ago, that is, when I stumbled upon an online writing community. I lurked for a while, observing the camaraderie and learning about the writing process. Eventually, I joined and began to participate. Then tried my hand at writing again. And everything was right (write?) in my world!
Today, I live in the Nashville area with my husband, my real-life hero of over twenty years.
