I spent one half of my childhood dreaming of imaginary worlds and the other half telling my friends the stories – which led to a permanent seat next to the desk of pretty much all of my elementary school teachers! And then came the revelation that I could actually commit my stories to paper. That saved a lot of time. And managed to keep me out of trouble... mostly.
Despite the various paths that life can lead us on, I believe that basic nature changes very little and these days I’m still known for doing rather a lot of talking and daydreaming (I’ve certainly missed more than one exit, musing over stories while I was supposed to be driving!). One day it finally occurred to me that simply talking about writing a romance novel was never going to get the job done… so I set out to write one.
My first novel, Everything in its Time, was published in July 2000. Since then I’m proud to say that I’ve won the Booksellers Best, Golden Leaf, Texas Gold and Prism awards, and have been nominated for the National Readers Choice Award, the Holt, two Romantic Times Reviewers Choice Awards and an RT Career Achievement Award.
Right now, the time I don't spend at the computer is spent with my husband, daughter, cat and Welsh corgi. Thankfully, they are all really good at listening to stories.
