I don't suppose there where was ever any doubt that I would wind up having a creative career. As a two year old, I imagined dinosaurs on the lawn. By six it was witches in the bedroom closet. Soon I was designing elaborate paper-doll wardrobes and writing stories about Teddy the Bear.
Eventually I graduated to short horror stories and oil paints. I was working as an artist and a part-time librarian when I discovered my first romance novel and thought, 'Hey, I can write one of these!' So I did.
I have now written several books for various Harlequin lines, with many more crowding my imagination, demanding to be written. I am honoured to have been a RITA and Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice finalist, but find my greatest reward in becoming friends with my readers, even if it's only for the length of a book.
I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan, where the long winters still don't give me enough time to significantly reduce my to-be-read mountains of books. When I'm not reading or writing (which is rare), I'm painting and decorating my own or my friends' houses, watching football, and endlessly shovelling snow.
