Rating"1st book: This is the first book of the "Desert King trilogy".
After the prologue with the rose analogy I would have expected a gentler and more conscious wooing of Jesslyn by Sharif, be it for himself or his children. Also it felt like the sad parts of the story and their relationship were not enough balanced out by good parts and good times.
2nd book: Annie West seems to be very good with high-intensity emotions, however inbetween these emotional highlights the story seems to drop off to a point which is almost boring. Which made for a bit of mixed feelings reading this story. Also the ending could have been longer."
