Rating"Written with the author's usual panache this is an excellent start to the Silk & Scandal Collection.
It alwats amazes me how naive these headstrong Regency heroines can be in thinking that they can take on the villain by confronting him on their armed solely with a pistol!
I couldn't really understand why Nell could not simply tell the truth of her situation immediately - her reasons seemed flimsy. I found one particular part of the plot unnecessary and didn't feel it added anything to the plot.
Nevertheless I was engrossed throughout and am intrigued as to how the mystery will unravel.
8 out of 10."
