Rating"Although this has a very familiar blackmailed into marriage plot it is written compellingly with almost tangible tension which keeps you engrossed.
Both the lead characters are empathetic and evoke your sympathy, although their blindness towards each other at times is frustrating.
In what is a great month for Moderns this just about wins the top accolade.
Easily this author's best novel to date.
