About Helen

I grew up the seventh of eight children in central Minnesota. Although I never dreamed of writing books as a child, I was a voracious reader and cut my teeth on all the Harlequin books I could get my hands on.

With a BS in accounting, I started career life as a CPA and thought I'd end career life as an old CPA, but the decision to stay home with my kids made all things possible.

I am proud to say that my books have been nominated for many awards, including Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice and I won the Romance Writers of America's prestigious RITA® Award for Best Contemporary Series Romance Suspense/Adventure.

I continue to to write away, living in Minnesota with my husband, two children, two dogs and three surly cats. I grew up the seventh of eight children in central Minnesota. I live in the Midwest with my hero husband, my could-not-ask-for-a-better-one son, and a cheeky little bird. I don't roam all the time, and when I'm at home, the thing I love the most is being part of a family.
