About Susan

My real name is Diana Palmer, and Susan Kyle is the pseudonym under which I have written The Morcai Battalion paranormal romance series.

Before becoming a published author, I worked for sixteen years as a news reporter on both daily and weekly newspapers. I began selling romance novels in 1979 and now write as Diana Palmer for three New York publishing houses: Mira Books (mainstream romances), Silhouette Books (contemporary series romances), and Fawcett Books (historical romances).

I have over ninety five books in print, translated and published around the world. Awards I have received during my career include seven Waldenbooks national sales awards, four B. Dalton national sales awards, two Bookrak national sales awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award for series storytelling from Romantic Times, several Affaire de Coeur awards, and two regional RWA awards. In 1998, a Japanese Harlequin reader poll gave my Silhouette Desire novel, The Patient Nurse, its favourite book of the year award.

When I’m not writing, my hobbies include gardening, knitting, crocheting, astronomy, archaeology, and animals.
