About Susan

I originally trained as an artist, studying a BFA in Illustration at the California College of Arts and Crafts. The idea of being a writer only occurred to me after my friend read a short story I’d written and suggested that I try writing a romance novel. After being a long time reader of science fiction and fantasy, I realised that what I really wanted to do was combine the two genres. That was when I began to write my first novel Prince of Wolves. Within a year, I had sold the manuscript as part of a three-book contract, and I was thrilled when the novel went on to make several bestseller lists.

I was born and raised in California, but now make my home in New Mexico, the 'Land of Enchantment', with my husband, Serge, my dogs Brownie, Freya and Nahla, and my cat, Jefferson. In addition to writing, My interests include music – especially classical, oldies and new age – old movies, nature, baking and making jewellery for artisan beads.
