About Renee

I sold my first book in the most unusual, public way possible. Back in 2001, one of my historicals was a finalist in the inaugural Dorchester/Romantic Times New Historical Voice Contest and the editors revealed the winning manuscript by unveiling a poster-sized version of the future cover art. Imagine sitting in the audience of a large convention room with a thousand of your closest friends and there is your name on your future book. It was an amazing moment.  After that, my career hit a seven-year dry spell, until I finally sold my second book to the Love Inspired Historical line in February 2009.

On a more personal note, I grew up in a house nestled in the dunes of a Florida beach. I learned to skateboard, play tennis and surf very poorly, before I went off to college at Florida State University.  Armed with a degree in Economics and Religion I explored various career opportunities, including stints at a Florida theme park, a modelling agency, and a cosmetic conglomerate. I also taught high school Economics, American Government and Latin while coaching award-winning cheerleading teams.

I currently live in Savannah, Georgia with my husband and a large, fluffy cat many have mistaken for a small bear.
